As a part of our constant development and progress, we have taken many steps to indigenize the products and processes.
HKEC has already proposed us to depute senior members to China for understanding the assembly at workshop and training at project site also. So that HKEC assures that if this team approves the readings such as alignment et al, it’s as good as approved as approved by HKEC. This training is planned in coming year
Effective from 1st January 2011, we will commence the localization of Governor, its control panels, AVR cum Excitation panel and other Indigenous Electrical Panels in our facility planned at Jigani Industrial Estate near Bangalore (45kms)
Though currently we have envisaged Hemarus Technology Limited existing Work Shop ( Mr. JSR Prasad's sugar plant) as a base for manufacturing spares for these Turbines, we are planning further plant near Bangalore in the same proposed Jigani Industrial Estate in range of 5000 sq. foot + for spare productions and also trans-shipment for the below purpose. (It shall be an excise registered unit of PDL itself )
Discussion for formation of Joint venture which we had put on hold because of all these GOI Guidelines is now decided to go ahead with. New Harbin Kunming Electrical Company will take @ 19% shares in PDL - Indian Company and the equity inflow shall be utilized for setting up spares facility.
[ As you might be aware that our other Indian Company owned by Mr. J S R Prasad- Greenesol Power 37% shares are held by Chinese Government Company Hangzhou Steam Turbine Co, agreement was signed in July 2004 and Chinese govt. took 6-8 months to approve the fund transfer as part of Equity to India]
Because HKEC will have a new facility to make upto 250 MW Unit capacity at a location of 40 kms from Kunming city with new factory and new machinery. HEC-Harbin is investing 1Billion RMB (700 Crores Rs) for this new factory and machinery. As you are aware that RMB flow out of country is very strictly monitored by Chinese Government, so HKEC proposes to compensate for this with machinery from its existing unit. This is just one option proposed by us, which was discussed but not finalized.
What we have understood is that Mechanical Design of HKEC is very robust and must not face any problem for entire life of the machinery, I mean 35-40 years.

We have already indigenized these components for our new projects and we are able to cater locally from Indian market without even referring to HHKEC China, for earlier projects. While metal bearing pads can be remade in India itself with companies like RENK, OMEGA and many more local vendors.
We have identified facilities for making minor mechanical components in India itself.
In the coming weeks, we will finalize a long terms agreement with a firm in JAIPUR for taking up productions of such mechanical components in their factory under supervision of PDL and HHKEC Engineers. List of machineries available at this Jaipur unit is given below. [ Just for idea purpose]

The bottom line is that we are gearing up slowly but steadily to indigenize most wear and tear components from within India and hopefully from within PDL Set up itself.
